Present Moment is an Emmy-nominated and award-winning production of REEL WITNESS. It is a collaborative film project documenting a family negotiating the realities of a longterm, degenerative illness: Parkinson's Disease. The film is a celebration of living life well -- despite whatever health challenges one might face. Our protagonist's wisdom, honesty and courage inspires the viewer while reminding them of their own innate resiliency.

PRESENT MOMENT has played in 26 film festivals around the world, earning 5 awards and screens on PBS affiliate KCTS9 in their REEL NW Independent Filmmaker Series.

"An empowering film about courage, resilience and acceptance." - Media Inc Magazine

The documentary Present Moment provides a vivid and moving portrait of a man who has incorporated Parkinson’s disease into his sense of identity. As portrayed in the film, he is so much more than his disease – an important lesson for everyone coping with a chronic illness. - Kathleen Dracup, RN, FNP, PhD, Dean Emerita & Professor Emerita, UCSF School of Nursing

Present Moment was moving, challenging and deeply poignant."  Ian Ebright, Filmmaker of Award-Winning short film 'From the Sky'
"Present Moment is an intimate, revealing, and inspiring vignette of a family's acceptance of Parkinson's. The Vallat family's story is shared with such sensitivity and compassion, it's no surprise that the film was a firm favorite of both the audience and festival team alike at Sunderland Shorts 2016." Mathew Tye, Sunderland Shorts Film Festival

PRESENT MOMENT was nominated for an Emmy award in April of 2017. The Emmy Award Ceremony is June 3, 2017.
